Artistic Director: Janine DonnellA.C.T.A was formed in 1998 and is a not for profit organization that teaches children and young people from ages 7 to 18 years drama, dance and singing, all within a single curriculum.
A key benefit of participation at A.C.T.A is that it helps children gain confidence, pride, self esteem and a positive belief in themselves through training and performing.
For those who wish to pursue formal musical theatre qualifications, A.C.T.A is one of the country's leading Trinity Guildhall music and drama training centres, with our students consistently achieving above national averages in their grades.
The Trust was formed in 1998 by the Donnell family, respected New Zealand Theatre and musical professionals, when they realized there was no organization in Auckland offering all aspects of musical theatre tuition in one curriculum.
Our Trust Deed governs and controls how we work. It stipulates that A.C.T.A students be between 7 and 18 years of age. When our older students graduate from A.C.T.A they often come back to help out with classes as well as making guest appearances in some of our shows or working backstage. Over the last 10 years A.C.T.A has become family for many children and young people as they have developed skills, experienced the excitement of performance, and made lifelong friends.
