All new applicants wishing to enrol at A.C.T.A need to attend an Audition Workshop. There are four workshops held per year at the start of the public school terms. Note: There are no enrolments taken in advanced level classes at the start of Term 2 due to rehearsal schedules for the Semester 1 performance.
Students are grouped by age for auditioning and the workshop format ensures each child can do all that is asked of them in in a safe and fun environment. In many cases the younger children do not know they are being evaluated. They are much too busy having fun.
WORKSHOP REGISTRATION
All students must have a parent attend for the first 15 mins of the workshop for registration/notices.
After registering all students will be introduced to the tutors taking the workshop, and you will be given a brief run-down ofthe workshop content and then have an opportunity to ask questions before students begin. Parents/Guardians are permitted to stay and watch if they wish to do so.
WORKSHOP CONTENT
All students will be coached and assessed in three performing arts: Drama, Singing and Dance to determine your confidence and ability levels in all departments. Please note: Although auditions are grouped by age, age does not automatically determine the class you are placed in at A.C.T.A.
Please Wear:Comfortable dance wear and jazz shoes or sneakers. Girls- hair tied back please.
Please Bring: A drink and a snack to eat for break times.
LATE ENTRY - SOLO AUDITION
If for any reason you are unable to attend the audition workshop at the start of the term a late entry, solo audition can be booked up until the 4th week of Term.
