Musical Theatre Classes Information

Following the audition workshops students are invited to enrol to begin classes.  Our classes run once a week after school, usually from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. We do not run during school holidays.The day of the week your class is on depends on the group you are with.

Classes are grouped around age and ability so every student works at their optimal level with their peers. Developing confidence and having fun in a structured environment is as important as learning repertoire. The instruction level for an 8 year old for example, is very different from that of a 15 year old and our tutors ensure no student is made to feel uncomfortable through setting unreasonable expectations. At each weekly lesson students receive tuition in drama, singing and dance. During the year they learn essential musical theatre skills, stagecraft, and demonstrate their learnings by performing repertoire.

The relationship between music, drama, movement and dance which is the essence of musical theatre is at the core of the programme.  The classes stress the importance of performance, style, imagination, flexibility and commitment to the personal growth and confidence of performers and the cultivation of versatility.
